PRIME is the newly funded Prairie Research Institute for Materials and Energy. This is a collaboration between various chemists and physicists across the prairie provinces aimed at solving important problems in materials science. CFI has recently allocated $1M in funds for the establishment of a world-class materials chemistry facility at the University of Winnipeg which includes an image furnace at 9 T PPMS (Physical Property Measurement System) from Quantum Design. These new facilities will be located in the new science building at the University of Winnipeg.
